Dear Lifers,

How many of you feel a little beat up by life? How many feel a LOT beat up? We live in a world that for the most part doesn’t want to admit that there is a spiritual enemy seeking to destroy us. I mean, if we can’t see him…how do we know that he’s really there? And isn’t that really a little superstitious? But how else do you explain why this life is so hard and there is so much pain?

So, let’s say, just for argument sake that such an enemy exists. What do we do about an enemy we can’t even see? What hope do we have against him?

The apostle Paul asked the question, “If God is for us, then who can be against us?” God IS for us. And He has provided the power and protection we need against the attacks of the enemy, but I have found that most people either don’t know or don’t care. Well, we want you to know AND care – because being prepared and using God’s armor changes everything.

Join us THIS SUNDAY, June 30th as we launch a new message series: Battle Ready! We will be studying Ephesians 6:10-19. You can read ahead, but come ready to be equipped for battle!

Take a look below to see some of the life-giving things happening at LifeBridge:

Eight O’ Clock Encounter: As a church, our very first meeting was prayer. Every week we gather to make prayer a priority as we seek God’s power and His presence among us. No one has to pray out loud and people are free to stay as long as they like. This is a powerful time for us as individuals and as a church body. I hope you will give it a try if you have not already. Saturdays, 8am at the church.

LifeBridge Livestreaming: THIS SUNDAY we plan to go live – all across the globe. Yes, you (and others) will be able to tune into our worship experience from anywhere on the planet. That way, if you are home with sick kids or away for a business trip or vacation, you don’t have to miss a thing. Keep your eyes open for our livestream on our Facebook page, YouTube and from our website. We will send another e-mail Saturday evening with more details. Help us get the word out. Who knows, maybe people that won’t come to us will catch the message online.

Bridge Kids: There has never been a more important time to connect with kids about their spiritual journey. Many of us recall Bible stories that were shared with us as kids and most of us probably decided to follow Christ before the age of 14. BridgeKids provides an amazing opportunity to influence kids spiritually. Conversations, relationship building, spiritual formation, and worship are all part of the BridgeKids experience. There’s opportunity to impact kids in many ways and it requires many to do so. This Sunday, Jay and Donna Hostetler, our BridgeKids transitional team leaders, will be available in the Lobby to share opportunities about serving our Nursery—5th graders. You could be the person who makes a difference in the life of a child for eternity. Consider joining our Crew!

The Living Room – New Hours and LIVE Entertainment: The new hours for The Living Room are Monday through Friday 8am-6pm and Saturdays 8am-10pm with live entertainment from 8pm-10pm. This Saturday, Ivan Akansiima is playing Christian Jazz Fusion. Next Saturday, July 6th will feature Witn3ss.

4th of July Parade: So, if you have been a Lifer for long, you may be wondering why you haven’t heard much about passing out popsicles in the parade. Well, we have chosen to take a year off. Just based on the timing of certain things, staffing and the launch of our upcoming SERVE SoHa event, we decided to let this event rest for a year. I hope this will give you opportunities to enjoy your family and the holiday. We plan to be back…next year.

Worship On The Riverwalk: For the third year in a row, Hope Church is hosting a Christian Worship/Music series on the riverwalk down by the city marina. It’s a free worship concert that can be enjoyed by all. We see this as an opportunity for the body of Christ across all the churches to join and worship together. The experience begins at 7pm on Sundays the 14th, 21st and 28th of July. Click here for more details.

Summer Baptism: We are always excited about baptism because it signals lives among us, transformed by the grace and mercy of God. If you are a follower of Jesus and you have never been baptized, what are you waiting for? Click here for more information about baptism or reply to this e-mail to start a conversation with one of our pastors. For everyone else, join us Sunday 28th from 4-7pm as we celebrate baptisms, share a potluck meal together, and enjoy playing, laughing and talking together. This year we will be at Lake Arvesta again. I hope you will join us.

Father’s Day At LifeBridge: I want to just take a minute to thank all the people that made Father’s Day such great day. Lot’s of people were blessed by the worship and message that day. That’s why we go through all the work to do a car show and food and all that. Two people gave their lives to Jesus and I had conversations with more who were very moved by the whole experience. As Jerry said, “If it’s just for one person, it’s all worth it.” So thanks Jerry Beckwith and Loretta Overheiser and Jennifer Carver and Dan Henriquez and…so many others who made huge investments to make it such a great event.

LifeBridge Building Project: It has been hard to give updates or any kind of projections for the completion of the front building as it has taken so long and really still has quite a ways to go. But I do want you to know that the space is coming along well and is going to be AWESOME when it is finally completed. Part of getting this completed will require help with several small finish projects. If you have skills/experience in construction and feel you may have some time to help us get this polished off, please e-mail Pastor Milan. I will contact you to see if we can get you lined up with a project that is perfect for you. In particular, we do have some cabinets that need to be painted. Anyone up for that?
