Dear Lifers,

What are you planting today?

Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A person reaps what they sow. Galatians 6:7

It’s spring-time and there is a lot of planting going on. I used to work at Wedel’s Garden Center in Kalamazoo with my dad. I remember how crazy busy these spring days would get as thousands of people came out to get their flowers, trees, shrubs and veggie plants. People would hang out there for hours – being VERY intentional about what they bought. Why? Because they knew that what they put in the ground now would produce a beautifully landscaped yard and a fruitful garden later in the summer…or a scruffy looking yard and a garden full of weeds.

So, what are you sowing today? What kinds of words, actions and attitudes will define how your yard and garden look next week, next month or next year? Will you have Lilacs, Phlox and juicy tomatoes, or dandelions and poison ivy?

Part of why we gather as Christ-followers is to encourage one another. It’s not about the programs, it’s about the connection. When I am with other believers, I am inspired to say and do the things that are life-giving – to sow seeds of life that will bring me a harvest of life. I hope when you come to a worship experience, a LifeGroup, Celebrate Recovery or youth group, I hope you are given the seeds of life and taught how to sow them in expectation of a harvest.

Take a look below to see some of the life-giving things happening at LifeBridge:

Eight O’ Clock Encounter: Our last several weeks of Saturday morning prayer have been so powerful. I didn’t think it could get better, but it has. I love Sunday mornings, but there is a unique power in our prayer time. I sure would love for you to join us. If you are struggling, this is a time and place where your faith will be set on fire. Anyone is welcome. No one has to pray out loud. Everyone experiences a blessing. Saturdays, 8am at the church.

SATURATE Series: God has given us a vision to saturate this community with the life of Christ. Why? How? What does that look like and how does God partner with us to accomplish that vision? Join us on Sundays to catch the vision and how you can be part of the movement. Worship Experiences are at 8:30, 10 and 11:30am.

Housing Need: Just this week I received two requests for help finding economic rental housing. If you know of anything available in the South Haven area, please contact me with info.

Graduation Sunday: In just a few weeks we will be celebrating those who have completed high school or earned a new degree in college. We want to make sure we recognize all our graduates on Sunday, June 2nd in our morning worship experiences. If you know of a Lifer (regular LifeBridge attender) who will or has recently graduated high school or college, would please simply reply to this e-mail with their name? We have a running list, but we would hate to miss someone. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

LifeBridge Livestreaming: You know those days you get stuck home sick or need to stay home with one of the kids? Or those days when you are out of town for the week…or the winter? Well, you don’t have to miss the worship experience at LifeBridge any more. In a few weeks, we will begin livestreaming our morning worship experience in real time. We will have more details on how to connect to the experience once we are up and running. Until then, we are looking for techy-minded, detail oriented individuals with an eye for excellence to become the team who will produce our livestream each week. If you are interested in learning video production to serve on this team, please contact me or David Tumisiime.

LifeBridge Building Project: It has been hard to give updates or any kind of projections for the completion of the front building as it has taken so long and really still has quite a ways to go. But I do want you to know that the space is coming along well and is going to be AWESOME when it is finally completed. Part of getting this completed will require help with several small finish projects. If you have skills/experience in construction and feel you may have some time to help us get this polished off, please contact me and let me know. I will contact you to see if we can get you lined up with a project that is perfect for you.

Equipment Needed for Father’s Day: Father’s Day is coming up and you know what that means. Each year, we make Father’s Day an extra…manly day. You can’t have a man’s day without meat right? So we plan to have a meal available while you are here enjoying the festivities for donation only. The proceeds of the meal will go directly toward the rental of a bus for our kids going to church camp. We do still need a few things. Do you have a roaster or ice chest we could borrow? Please contact me and let us know. Thanks!

Peace and blessings all!
