Today, I opened up my document to write out the Life At The Bridge and as always, I read back through the message from last week. I started reading and realized I had missed something huge. If you remember, I started last week thanking a bunch of people for working hard to make our Easter services amazing. But somehow a very important team was missed. I thought for sure I had mentioned them, but I checked and they weren’t there.
So, THANKS Melissa Brown, Val Crisler, Mary Rydecki and Stacey Wiens for setting up and arranging the beautiful flowers and the cross. You all really have a gift for making our space beautiful. They were perfect for making the building warm and welcoming and we are still enjoying them two weeks later.
Hey, this Sunday we are going to conclude the ordinary HERO series with a message entitled: To The Batcave. Now you’re curious. You have to come and see what that’s all about. If you want to spend some time in preparation, you can read II Corinthians 5:16-21.
Take a look below to see more great things happening that we don’t want you to miss:
Eight O’ Clock Encounter: We often talk about doing our part helping people meet Jesus. We do our best to introduce them…but the Holy Spirit is the one who REVEALS Jesus to each person’s heart. It’s a team sport and we have to spend time with the coach. Join with us at 8am on Saturday mornings for a powerful huddle with God. No judgment, no obligation to pray out loud, no pressure. Just an amazing time seeking God together.
Mother’s Day: Mother’s Day is always a highlight at LifeBridge where we take time to honor our moms and bless them for the blessing and gift they are to us. Each woman will get a gift to take home and a photo opportunity will help moms capture the experience with a family picture. Of course there will be other special touches and we won’t forget to honor God – after all, He gave us moms. Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 12. We hope you will invite a woman or mom who needs to be honored. 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30am.
Infinity Tour / Beacon Light Concert – Free: On May 22nd, our youth ministries will be hosting a concert at the church starting at 6:30pm. But it’s not just for teens. A year and a half ago Beacon Light came and inspired us with his music and his message. This year he will be joined by opening bands from the Infinity Music group. Click here to learn about Beacon and check out some of his music. Please help us get the word out. We want to pack this place. Click here to find our event on Facebook and then share it with all your friends. Hope to see you there.
Baptism: Congratulations to Ana and Amore Ramirez, Aden Ratzlaff, Joy Jensen, William Dawson and Keith Kimble who were baptized this last Sunday. Just one more step on your amazing journey with Christ! Thanks for sharing that exciting moment with your church family.
“Farewell David” Open House: They say all good things must come to an end. As you all know, our beloved Bridge Kids Director, David George will be moving on. For almost three years he and his wife Rachel have blessed us with their leadership and their passion for serving our kids and families here at LifeBridge. We wanted to give you all an opportunity to honor and bless them out the door. We are hosting a farewell open house style party this Sunday, May 5th from 3:00-5:00pm. You may bring gifts or cards. We will serve light refreshments and cake.
Mission Partner Spotlight: Kyle Brush’s year has been fruitful in many ways as he continues to use skateboarding to reach many people for Christ. Already in 2019 his team has reached hundreds of young people locally through Truth Skate Church, school assemblies, mentor programs, youth events and the work to plant a ministry in Detroit. Beyond that he’s continuing to do events around the US and has done work to reach thousands in Burundi, Africa! It’s only May! This summer he’s planned the “Die to Live Tour” where his team will visit at least 20 Michigan skateparks bringing food, drinks, giveaways and the Gospel message to every location. Beyond that he’ll be a part in many more events around the country, a skate camp in Canada, a skate ministry conference and hopes to make another trip to Burundi before the year is out! As always he could use your prayer and financial support to continue this work! Financial gifts can be given through www.truthskatechurch.
Across our bridges: These are not outside our walls because we don’t really believe in walls at LifeBridge. These are things happening across the bridges we are building.
We Care Golf Outing: Hey, if you are a golfer and want to enjoy a day on the course and help a great cause at the same time, check out the We Care golf outing at Hawkshead on June 3. Click here for more info.
National Day of Prayer: If you are available to join us at 12:15pm TODAY (Thursday, Ma7 2nd) we will gather with our brothers and sisters from other churches around our community in front of City Hall for prayer together. This is a great opportunity to pray for our community, families, churches, and our country united together in Christ. In case of rain, the event will be held inside City Hall.
24:7 Dad: Hope Parent Resource Center is offering a new discussion group for dads interested in meeting with others to work on their fathering skills. Too much to describe here. Click here for more info on their Facebook page.
