Spring is coming. Can’t you just feel it in the air?…
Ok, neither can I. But things are still warming up at LifeBridge. We have had a great winter and there are so many ways to keep your mind off the weather when you’re a part of something hot! But let’s not lose sight of why we exist. Church is not about all the religious goods and services we can consume. The Church is God’s answer for reaching this broken world and leading people into a deeper relationship with their Heavenly Father. The church brings the Kingdom of Heaven to this world as we prepare people for there.
We hope your faith is thriving and as John said it:
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. III John 1:2
We care about your soul. We know that when your soul is well, the rest of life falls into place. This week we will continue our Soul Care series discussing God’s plan to bring healing to our souls. Over time, our souls can become wounded or diseased. No one even needs to convince you of that. But we don’t have to live wounded. You can be healed and God is eager to bring your healing. If you want to get a jump on the message, you can read Psalm 139 between now and Sunday.
Here’s more of what is happening at LifeBridge:
Eight O’ Clock Encounter: We NEVER cancel prayer. But we might shorten it sometimes. Hey, this Saturday, we will meet for prayer at 8:00am just like always. But this week we will need to shorten it because the XO Marriage Conference Saturday session begins at 9:00. So, if you are coming for prayer, please make every effort to be ON TIME, and know that we will get right to prayer so we can wrap up at around 8:45.
XO Marriage Conference 2019: Our staff has been finalizing details for the XO Marriage Conference THIS WEEKEND. All of the messages will be fresh and new and shorter this year. They will be concentrated! The only thing that will be similar is lunch on Saturday from Hawkshead – and ain’t nobody complaining about that. Time is running out, so please click here and get your tickets TODAY. By the way, you can’t just hit “going” on the Facebook event. You must order your tickets on the Eventbright page. Registration is quick and easy and I assure you, you will not find a cheaper conference option for building, saving or reviving your marriage together.
CR Guest Speaker: Celebrate Recovery/Freedom is inviting the whole church to join them for a special event featuring guest speaker Emily Klotz on Friday March 8th at 7pm here at LifeBridge. I have watched part of her story on video and I am telling you, it is a POWERFUL story of forgiveness and healing!! You do not want to miss this event. It will be a great opportunity to invite a friend for a night of music and inspiration.
Family Communion: This Sunday, March 3rd we will serve communion and children will be in the service so families can receive communion together during all three worship experiences. We are announcing this so you can have a heads up to talk with your children in advance if you would like to. If you are a parent, you could use this opportunity to tell your children your own personal faith story and why communion is important to you? Have your kids ever heard your story? Maybe this is the time.
Baptism – March 10: We already have a handful of people signed up to be baptized on Sunday, March 10th. If you have become a follower of Jesus and have not taken the plunge, why not jump in? If you have questions, please click here to read up on why and how we do baptism. Or, please feel free to contact the church office with any questions. If you want to sign up to be baptized, reply to this e-mail, or better yet, check the box on a connection card at church this Sunday.
Thailand Mission Team: Tomorrow morning a group of Lifers will be traveling to Thailand to learn and serve on mission there. Lucie and Holger Jerch will be leading the team (mostly Living Room Café staff) which include Olivia Price, Odalys Morales, Hailey Conklin and Jessi Flath. While they are there, they will be training and working with a similar coffee shop staff and helping at the South Thailand outreach. They will also be working at the sustainable farm, going to the school outreach in Loas, visiting an orphanage in Mayanmar, learning about the red light district ministry and going to the outreach in Chiang Khong to help with children’s ministry. Please lift this team in your prayers while they are gone from March 1-10.
Camp Scholarships: This year we already have 45 students signed up for summer camp at Lake Ann. We take students to Lake Ann camp because of the amazing experience they have and the camp’s commitment to developing the faith of each student. A stellar camp is not cheap. For some families, it is difficult to afford an experience of this level of excellence, especially if they have multiple kids. Help us get ALL 45 of OUR KIDS there by making a contribution to our camp scholarship fund. You may donate by dropping a contribution in the Blessing Boxes on a Sunday (make sure it is designated for camp) or by using our easy PushPay tool through either the website or on the app. Make sure you select “Camp Scholarship” camp in the “fund” menu. If you have any questions about camp, please contact the church office and we will be happy to help you.
