Thank you for beginning this journey of The Gospel Project® for Kids. This week began a three-year chronological study of Scripture. Every story in the Bible is a small piece of a much bigger story—God’s redemptive story. Sin would enter the world and affect everything, but God already had a plan to show His grace to people through His Son (2 Tim. 1:9). The Bible says that God began His plan to rescue people from sin before He even created the world! (Eph. 1:4-6)
In this weeks Bible story, children learned that God created the world out of nothing. Every wonderful and beautiful thing God created, He spoke into existence. God created the world and everything in it for His glory. Jesus was present at creation, and all things were created through Him and for Him. (Col. 1:16-17)
This week take some time to read the Biblical account or creation with your kids. You can read it in Genesis 1:1-25. If you have younger kids you can use a story Bible to read it with them.
Ask the questions:
Why did God create the world? (God created the world and everything in it for His Glory).
What is your child’s favorite thing God created?
What part of creation most declares God’s glory to them? (feel free to give your answer too).
Christ Connection: The Bible says that Jesus is Lord over all of creation. Everything was created by Him and for Him. The Son has always existed, and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16-17)
Every week we will have something for your kids to bring back to one of our leaders the following Sunday. If they come back to us with their answer they will be able to pick a prize out of our prize box.
This week: Tell a BridgeKids leader what part of creation most declares God’s glory to them?
